The Springfield Retirement System is a mandatory retirement plan for nearly all full-time and part-time employees of the City of Springfield, the Springfield Housing Authority and the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission.

Now is a good time to review your Federal Tax Withholding and Direct Deposit Information.

Please notify the Springfield Retirement Office if you would like to change your federal tax withholding, direct deposit information, or if you recently moved.

Please note that the 1099-R forms have been mailed.

Your Annual Statements for 2024 have been mailed. Be sure to review them and contact us with any changes or updates!!!


The Springfield Retirement System, through our software with Pension Technology Group (PTG), offers you access to your information through the Employee Self Service (ESS) Web Portal.

If you are an active member of the Springfield Retirement System, meet the Chapter 32, Section 1 definition of a veteran and, for any reason, have not entered into an agreement with the Springfield Retirement Board to purchase your military service time, or you have entered an agreement, but have not completed the purchase, please read this NOTICE closely as there have been significant changes to veterans' buybacks signed into law.
